For starters, buttercream piping is never easy. I can still remember the first time I piped a buttercream: I don't even know what kind of design I'm going for! When I was starting, I couldn't find any tutorials that can help me with my piping skills. Lucky you because there's an easy tutorial that can help you pipe buttercream roses!
This easy piping tutorial is going to be your new best friend! Just a few tips I can give you: make sure your buttercream frosting is at the right consistency. You don't want it to be too thick or too thin. If it's too thin, it will not hold its shape or easily melt when the room is warm. You don't want it to be too thick because it will be hard to pipe the frosting. This happened to me plenty of times and I learned it from the hard way. Also, be gentle when piping the frosting. Do not put too much pressure when piping because the entire frosting might go out. Make sure to hold the piping bag from the top so the frosting won't go all the way to the top. Icing bag ties would be a great help for this.
Always remember that buttercream piping takes a lot of practice. If you're not sure of what you're doing, practice on parchment paper first so you won't waste cupcakes or frosting.
