Maple syrup is famous for being a topping for pancakes or waffles. It can also be used as a sweetener for cookies or granola bars. But maple syrup can be used more than that. In this recipe, maple syrup is going to be the star flavor, and I'm sure you'll love it!
Both the cupcakes and the frosting have maple syrup in it! The cupcakes have a slightly firm, tender crumb, which holds up really well when the frosting is added. The main sweetener of the cupcakes is the brown sugar, and of course, the maple syrup. Also, this doesn't have maple extract in it, so all the flavor comes from the syrup. But if you'd like, you can totally add a teaspoon of maple extract in there. The maple buttercream is also sweet, which makes it the perfect frosting for any cupcakes as well.
Since these cupcakes are giving me the holiday vibe, make sure to bake them for occasions like Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas!
