In my years, I've seen a lot of piping techniques and piping roses on cupcakes might be the most challenging for me. You might have seen cakes with roses on them, and usually, they are made with royal icing, so, they are like candies. But, have you seen roses made with buttercream frosting? You're lucky because this recipe will show you how you can do that.
The first thing to remember is that you have to have a Russian rose frosting tip. If you don't have this, this won't work. I don't know any alternative for this because this frosting tip is what makes the mini roses. Well, you can do a technique that is being used for royal icing roses. Using a small petal tip, you can create roses as well, but this might take a while. So, I recommend getting a Russian rose frosting tip.
The second thing to remember is that your buttercream frosting has to be thick, and not loose. This is so that the roses will be stable once you pipe them. They will stay in place this way.
As for the cupcakes, you can bake your favorite cupcake since this technique works on any flavor. Additionally, you can add some flavoring to your frosting as well.
