Vanilla cupcakes are so basic, yet delicious. I've always loved vanilla cupcakes. So whenever I can, I try different vanilla cupcake recipes to see which is the best. After numerous attempts, I have found the one.
Instead of the usual ingredients like butter, all-purpose flour, whole milk, this recipe uses vegetable shortening, cake flour, and buttermilk, which makes the cupcakes moist and fluffy. They are then topped with a delicious cream cheese frosting. Now, think of this cupcake as your plain canvass. You can decorate them however you like. You can keep them simple without adding a topping, or decorate them with your favorite fruit, sprinkles, or anything that comes to your mind!
If you've noticed, this recipe is slightly the same to a basic red velvet cupcake recipe, minus the increased quantity of vanilla extract and red food color. Both are delicious and perfect for any time of the day!
