I don't understand dark chocolate. If you want chocolate, why would you eat dark chocolate? I don't get it. Aren't you supposed to eat chocolate because you're craving for something sweet, yet you settle for a chocolate that is less sweet? Health reasons? I will understand if it's for health reasons, but if you just want dark chocolate, I will never understand. Well, no offense to dark chocolate lovers, but I will never like dark chocolate. Not until I came across this cupcake recipe that gave me a different perspective about dark chocolate.
These dark chocolate cupcakes are to die for! There I said it, and I totally regret everything that I assumed about dark chocolate. These cupcakes are delicious, with a very tight and tender crumb that almost seems to melt in your mouth when you take a bite. They are made even better with a pumpkin buttercream frosting that is so perfect for the fall season! The frosting is made with pumpkin butter, which makes the frosting flavorful. Finally, top with orange and chocolate sprinkles for more colors!
Instead of using pumpkin butter, you can also use pumpkin puree. This would work, but I don't think it's the best option because it doesn't have a strong pumpkin flavor, unlike the pumpkin butter. But if you prefer to use pumpkin puree, make sure to add a bit of extra spice to the frosting for an extra fall flavor.
