I absolutely love custard tart. In case you didn't know, custard tart is a pastry consisting of a baked crust filled with egg custard. There are different versions of this sweet dessert in the world. And honestly, one of the best custard tarts I've tasted is in Hong Kong from a bakery called Tai Cheong Bakery. I even brought a few pieces back home just so I can share it with my friends, and they agreed that it's one of the best! So, if you're a custard lover like me, I'm sure you'll love a cupcake version of this sweet dessert.
These cupcakes won't taste like the real thing, but at least it's something you can easily fix whenever you crave! These start off with vanilla cupcakes as the base. These cupcakes are also flavored with a teaspoon of nutmeg, which I think brings out the flavor of the cupcake more. Then, each cupcake is filled with French vanilla pudding. Finally, top each cupcake with a white chocolate buttercream frosting, which is super creamy in my opinion! You can also sprinkle a dusting of nutmeg on top to complete the look!
These delicious cupcakes are the perfect after dinner dessert because it's not the sweetest kind of cupcake, but it will still give you the satisfaction of a dessert!
